Ten commercially available 185 R14C tires for trailers were tested. The independent examination by the ADAC underlines the importance of the right tire choice, even on a towed axle. Braking behaviour, aquaplaning safety, side guide stability on wet roads and rolling resistance were determined by the testers in extensive individual tests. The BK Trailer 203 scored particularly well in terms of aquaplaning behaviour and rolling resistance.
The two award-winning models are specially designed for trailer applications and are manufactured exclusively for Bohnenkamp. Their carcasses, which are optimised for towing, allow a higher load capacity and at the same time ensure improved mileage. A rolling resistance-optimised tread design and the M+S marking also make both tires reliable all-season products for a wide range of operating conditions – from caravans and horse trailers to commercial van trailers.

Both models are currently being phased out – the BK Trailer 203 and the Boka Trailer Line FT 02 will only be available for a limited period of time. Customers who still want to benefit from the proven quality and attractive price-performance ratio should order soon. Successor models with enhanced performance are already in preparation.
The test framework
The ADAC tested all tires in the trailer size 185 R14C 104/102N, suitable for many common car trailers. The examination included an assessment of dry braking performance, wet grip when cornering, aquaplaning safety and rolling resistance. In addition, high-speed tests were carried out under difficult conditions. The ADAC concluded: even lesser-known brands such as BK Trailer or Boka deliver convincing quality – with the BK Trailer 203 at the top.
