Coreum Update

For a good year now, Bohnenkamp has been an active tyre partner of the Coreum construction machinery world exhibition. In the previous "civil engineering month" of June, we supported the facility's training programme with video training courses for expert tyre selection and converted the Hitachi training wheel loader from the ZW 250 type to BKT-SR-51.

The Hitachi wheel loader ZW 250 at Coreum runs on BKT tyres of the type BKT Earthmax SR-51 from Bohnenkamp.

The Hitachi wheel loader is used at Coreum for workshops and driver training, for example for use in recycling. To meet the tough requirements of waste disposal companies and recycling yards, Bohnenkamp had the vehicle equipped with a particularly robust tyre model from the BKT range at the beginning of June. The BKT Earthmax SR 51 - 23.5 R 25 was developed for wheel loaders and wheel dozers and has a reinforced, resistant all-steel carcass. Thanks to its cut-resistant, indestructible rubber compound and its extra deep L5 tread, the BKT Earthmax SR 51 excels due to its long service life even under the toughest conditions.

In two video training sessions, Christian Pieper, product manager for EM & industrial tyres at Bohnenkamp, also demonstrated the importance of a tyre selection adapted to the usage and application conditions. Over the past few weeks, he has been part of the Coreum team of lecturers for the training programme in the civil engineering month. In his one-hour sessions, he explained what is important when selecting tyres and the criteria by which a tyre can be assessed in use. "Even though one tyre may look like another to outsiders, the right tyre on the right machine for the right job makes a huge difference," said Pieper.
