Federal truck tyre funding 2024 for greater environmental protection and safety

The German government's "Environmental Protection and Safety" (formerly "De-minimis") funding program has been launched. While many framework conditions remain the same, applications can only be submitted from 5 February to 31 May 2024 in this year's funding period. Bohnenkamp supports the industry with a comprehensive range of truck tyres and maximum availability from stock.

In accordance with the "Environmental Protection and Safety" directive of the German Federal Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, the state is paying out up to 2,000 euros per truck over 7.5 tons and a maximum of 33,000 euros per company in the current year. Logistics companies and freight forwarders who take measures to "promote safety and the environment" on their vehicles can apply for funding from the federal government's "Environmental Protection and Safety" funding program. As in previous years, tyres that contribute to road safety and environmental protection by reducing noise and fuel consumption are also eligible for funding.

Wide range of eligible truck treads at Bohnenkamp

With its extensive stock of truck products, Bohnenkamp AG guarantees maximum availability of eligible truck tyres during the promotion period and beyond. In our online shop, a symbol indicates the eligible tread profiles. In addition, the respective subsidy amount can be found for each individual tyre. Based on this information, tyre dealers and their customers can reliably calculate the actual acquisition costs.

The high Bohnenkamp stock level also guarantees safety. "Almost all relevant tyres are stock items that are usually shipped to the customer on the same day as the order," says Mark Sobiech, Key Account Manager at Bohnenkamp in the Truck & Transport division.

Still two categories of measures for up to 80 percent subsidy on truck tyres

The tyre subsidy relates to the purchase, rental or leasing of additional safety equipment on the vehicle, in particular winter or all-season tyres. Eligible tyres must have certain markings such as the mountain pictogram with snowflake (3PMSF) or M+S, or be classified as low rolling resistance or low-noise.

1.3: Trailer tyres for adverse road conditions

Measure 1.3 covers new and retreaded profiles with Alpine/3PMSF marking, but only on trailer axles. Due to new winter tyre regulations, steer and drive axle tyres are no longer subsidized under measure 1.3, but can be subsidized under measure 1.9.

1.9: Low-noise and fuel-saving truck tyres

Measure 1.9 includes low-noise tyres for the driven axle and the front steering axle as well as rolling resistance-optimized and therefore fuel-saving tyres with energy efficiency classes A, B or C for all axle positions. For the latter, a graduated subsidy of 30 to 50 percent applies depending on the efficiency label.

The application period has been running since 5 February 2024 and runs until 31 May 2024.

Bohnenkamp Truck & Transport range

Bohnenkamp AG offers its customers a comprehensive range of treads for the truck and logistics sector. The product range includes the well-known truck tyre brands Nokian and Semperit as well as the exclusive brands Windpower and Sailun. The application spectrum of the available treads ranges from reliable trailer tyres to high-traction treads for the drive axle. Large parts of Bohnenkamp's truck tyre selection are eligible under the "Environmental Protection and Safety" subsidy program, and their purchase is subsidized by up to 80 percent of the purchase price.

Large eligible stock for ad-hoc availability

The truck tyre specialist highlights the enormous funding rate for individual treads from the truck segment: "In particular, the Windpower Pro series stands out with its maximum funding values. The new Windpower treads, for example, are worth highlighting, especially the PRO SR80 and PRO DR85, both of which feature maximum funding values." Both have been developed by the renowned manufacturer for use on the front axle and the drive axle, respectively, in regional transport and longer-distance local transport.

Windpower PRO SR80
The Windpower PRO SR80 is an ultra-modern truck tyre for the steering axle for regional transport with good water drainage, steering performance and driving comfort. Its sipes ensure gradual and even wear of the tread. Its very good handling and low rolling resistance should also be emphasised.

Windpower PRO DR85

The Windpower PRO DR85 truck tyre for the drive axle is impressive in regional traffic with outstanding traction and stability on dry and wet roads as well as exemplary values in mileage, handling and rolling resistance thanks to its innovative carcass structure made of three plies of cord.

Maximum funding of 80 percent

The highest possible subsidy from the "Environmental Protection and Safety" program per tyre applies to trailer tyres with the 3PMSF symbol (Three Peak Mountain Snowflake). These special treads meet higher requirements for winter suitability and can therefore receive higher funding quotas. This applies unless you mount truck tyres with the 3PMSF symbol on a drive axle or a front steering axle. In this case, as in the previous year, the maximum de minimis grant of 80 percent of the net expenditure is available. Bohnenkamp has a high delivery capacity here and a wide range of options from 17.5", 19.5" and 22.5".

Calculate maximum subsidy amount for the entire company

To determine the maximum subsidy amount for your company, you must multiply the number of heavy commercial vehicles that you had registered as owner or keeper on public roads in Germany on 1 December 2023 by a subsidy rate of up to 2,000 euros per vehicle. If you have vehicle documents relating to days between 1 December 2023 and the date of your application, you can also submit these and the Federal Office will consider them favourably.
