The Coreum, located in Stockstadt am Rhein, is a unique European forum for innovations in the construction machinery industry. As a partner of the Coreum, Bohnenkamp AG has also fitted tyres from the manufacturer BKT on one of the Hitachi wheel loaders used there for training and educational purposes. After about one and a half years of use, it is clear that the BKT tyres can easily keep up with the tyres of premium manufacturers. BKT products are available exclusively from Bohnenkamp in Germany.

Handling, traction, durability - all top level

BKT EARTHMAX SR 51 in the size 23.5 R 25 are mounted on the Hitachi ZW250-6 wheel loader, on which driver training is mainly carried out. In training operations, the tyres are subjected to enormous stresses. Experienced application consultant Christian Föhrenbach comments: 'The load on the tyres is relatively high because in many cases the tyre-friendly driving style still has to be taught. A particularly important factor here is the feel of the vehicle. Thus, at the beginning of the training, there is often an overloading of the bucket or even a strong spinning of the tyres when the machine drives into the bulk material and the driver gives too much gas. The BKT tyres have so far coped with this without any problems. In the areas of handling, traction and durability, no difference can be detected compared with the tyres of premium manufacturers also used for this purpose'.

With the EARTHMAX SR 51, BKT has added a Class L-5 tyre to its lineup for use in quarries, mines and recycling operations. In the SR 51, a special tread, the high-quality rubber compound and the rectangular shoulder shape that ejects stones sideways ensure a long tyre service life. The non-directional tyre offers excellent performance in both forward and reverse travel, making it the ideal tyre for demanding loading operations with high traction requirements.

Strong partnership

Bohnenkamp AG has been a partner of the Coreum since 2019. The company will be presenting its high-performance special tyres for the earthmoving sector as well as for construction and handling machinery. The Osnabrück-based tyre wholesaler's products have a permanent place in the Coreum's permanent exhibition. Bohnenkamp is represented with various exhibits both indoors and outdoors. Other partners of the Coreum also rely on the experience of Bohnenkamp colleagues: for example, Tobroco-Giant, the manufacturer of GIANT skid steer loaders, has been equipping its loaders with tyres from Bohnenkamp, such as the BKT Skidpower HD, for years. Optimas Maschinenfabrik also relies on the expertise of Bohnenkamp and has recently started fitting some of its pavement-laying machines with tyres from the Osnabrück-based wholesaler's range, such as the Kenda K368 or the Kenda K399 Loadstar.

The company's own Bohnenkamp Training Center has also planned training courses on EM tyres in the Coreum for this year.
