Osnabrück-based tyre wholesaler Bohnenkamp has opened a 17,000-square-metre external warehouse in the Niedersachsenpark. The new spaces maximise flexibility and delivery reliability for the commercial vehicle tyre wholesaler.
The new property is conveniently located in Niedersachsenpark between Rieste and Neuenkirchen-Vörden on the A1 and is connected to the central tyre logistics facility in Osnabrück by five truck shuttles. Here, Bohnenkamp AG stores products ranging from truck tyres to 54-inch agricultural treads. "Everything except small tyres" is how Bohnenkamp logistics manager Thomas Kettler sums it up precisely. Thanks to the vast goods inventory and eleven loading bridges, the additional storage area also serves as an independent goods handling area and can thus lighten the load on the company's highly frequented headquarters.
With the expansion of the storage area, Bohnenkamp AG will also ensure future product availability and service quality. "A steady flow of goods would be ideal, of course. But, like almost all globally networked companies at present, we have to deal with the current uncertainties", says Thomas Kettler. "However, we can compensate for these exceptional circumstances with broader based stock keeping and will guarantee our customers the usual partnership-based service and reliable availability in the future as well."
